Febuary 2026 –
Knowledge from practice – for practice

As part of our lecture series, we were pleased to welcome Dr. Wolfgang Rimkus as a guest lecturer. His presentation took our team deep into the world of FEM simulation – practical, easy to understand, and enriched by impressive experience from industrial projects.

What we took away:

  • Modeling & Discretization
From the CAD model to a robust FE model – including element types, meshing strategies, and stiffness relationships.
  • Material Models & Nonlinearity
How modern simulations represent real component behavior – from elasticity to complex nonlinear effects.
  • Lightweight Design & Generative Design
Innovative approaches for more efficient structures and new development pathways.
  • AI in FEM
How intelligent algorithms accelerate and enhance simulations and support engineers in their work.

A sincere thank you to Dr. Rimkus for the clear practical focus and the open exchange. Formats like this highlight how valuable the dialogue between academia and industry is for our continued development.
