April 2026 – Knowledge from practice – for practice

As part of our lecture series, our staff gained practical insights into an increasingly important topic in industrial automation: security for mobile robots.

The presentation made it clear that security and safety are inseparably linked, especially in the context of connected, autonomous systems. New regulatory requirements such as the Machinery Regulation, NIS2, and the Cyber Resilience Act clearly show that protection against manipulation, secure interfaces, and regulated access rights are no longer just a “nice-to-have,” but an essential part of modern machine and plant concepts.

Particularly in the case of autonomous mobile robots, it became evident how important a holistic approach is — from securing work areas and establishing clear access and authorization concepts to integrating security aspects into risk assessments.

Our sincere thanks go to our guest lecturer Thomas Pilz and to Pilz GmbH & Co. KG for their openness, strong practical perspective, and great commitment. The lecture impressively demonstrated how crucial industrial security is for safe and future-proof automation solutions.
