Mössner History

Today we would like to take you on another look back.

The first horizontal bandsaw was built by Mössner in 1938. Small and compact, the saw could be used to saw blanks for jewellery production.

Meanwhile, Mössner’s horizontal saws have grown and are capable of sawing aluminium ingots weighing more than 25 tonnes into slabs.

The horizontal saw is thus a good example of the continuous development of sawing systems at Mössner.

Today, the system runs fully automatically, is controlled numerically and monitored with lasers. The saw which is aligned to perform vertical cuts can be used universally and is also suited to sawing large blocks into smaller blocks.
